About us, marina history and community
The Naramata Yacht Club took over administration of the federal breakwater in 1962. In 1989,
NYC entered into a lease agreement with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans to maintain the marina, including the public loading dock and launch ramp used by the Naramata Fire Department for vital lake rescues.
Maintained to a high standard by our dedicated local Board of Directors and local volunteers and NYC members.
Our 2025/2026 Dredging program is complete, and was the final end of the better than 10 year process to gain permits and complete engineering and environmental studies! All supported by the local membership, berth holders, the local community, the local Fire Department, the Regional Government and legions of contractors and volunteers in addition to years of Fundraising Dance Party donations and participants. Truly a Community effort!
